For a short story this was rather cute. It was the perfect length for everything that needed covering with the characters, and went into just enough detail that as a reader you didn’t feel like you missed anything due to its short size. I actually read this book in between the fourth and fifth book in the Forever My Girl series. After reading the fourth ‘prequel’ book where we jumped into Liam’s past, I needed a break before the fifth book where we jump back into Liam’s future with Josie. This book provided a good break, and I believe it should be read before the final instalment in the series.
Nobody liked Nick much after the first book, and I have to say I’m still not the biggest fan, but it’s also easy to understand how he feels. I’m glad that his character had the chance to show readers a different side to him with Aubrey and Noah. It was sweet.
However, I feel like perhaps this could have been included as a ‘bonus’ section on the back of one of the other books. Trying to get more money by making it a stand-alone book seems a bit of a rip off. Fortunately it’s cheap on amazon.

My Everything The Beaumont Series edition by Heidi McLaughlin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Ok I know I said I despised Nick after reading Forever My Girl, but after reading My Everything, he has sort of redeemed himself!

My Everything takes place after Nick left Beaumont in Forever My Girl, and is a short novella about him moving forward and falling in love. I really wanted to continue hating Nick, but he made is so hard in this book. I felt his pain over losing Josie, and how much his life has changed since going to Africa. Over the course of this novella, you see that him come to the realization that what he had with Josie wasn't true and forever kind of love, but he regrets leaving Noah the way he did.

Seeing Nick try to find love again, and then find it was beautiful. It shows that he may have loved Josie, but what he has with this new girl is 100% different and better. They both want the same things out of life, and they make each other better. Seeing Nick come back to Beaumont was scary, I was afraid of how Liam and Josie would react, and surprised with how they did. I can see these four finally moving forward and letting the past stay in the past.

If you've read and loved Forever My Girl and wanted to see what happens with Nick, My Everything is the perfect companion novel to read. It's a very quick read but was beautifully written. As much as I hate to admit it, Nick now owns a piece of my heart after reading this book! Can't wait to dive into the next book and see what is happening in Beaumont now!
I loved this book. I loved Ryan, he's sweet, insecure, shy and has very negligent parents. His mother never stands up to Ryan's father and never defends him. His best friend Dylan loves him as long as he has no one.

Once Ryan meets Hadley everything changes. Dylan does everything to see Ryan away from Hadley. She calls herself his best friend but once Ryan starts seeing Hadley, Dylan wants him for herself. She's never looked at him as any hyping but a friend but now that he's with Hadley she doesn't care if he's miserable as long as he's alone.

Hadley falls for Ryan as soon as she sees him but the age difference won't let their relationship progress. Ryan is seventeen so they decide to wait a few months till anything happens between them. But they still see each other and talk on the phone. Hadley is Ryan's first kiss, first love and heartbreak.

The world sets out to break them apart. Her uncle uses the paparazzi and her ex boyfriend. Dylan makes sure Ryan knows about everything being said about Hadley.

I loved Hadley's best friend Alex. She's there to help Hadley in get away to see Ryan and in anyway possible. Alex is a true best friend. Hadley did piss me off because she let her uncle/manager control everything once she and Ryan are arrested.

I couldn't believe how Dylan moved in on Ryan and took advantage of him. I could never like Dylan. She helps Ryan out when he needs someone but I could never get around to liking her.

Loved this book and can't wait till the novella comes out. I highly recommend any of Heidi McLaughlin's books.
What an unreal but beautiful story! It didn’t seem possible due to Ryan’s age & the differences in their backgrounds & lifestyles, but I certainly was hoping for them to be reunited!
Heidi, I really enjoy your books, but it really bothers me that you have inept people working for you. Where is your editor, proof-readers & all the people that are supposed to check the contents of your written work? They’re not doing their job properly! The contents are great, but punctuation, grammar & spelling are atrocious! I am by no means an expert, but commas are NOT where they’re supposed to be or they’re there where it’s incorrectly added. Prepositions are dropped to make incomplete sentences, words are used incorrectly such as “they’re” which is a contraction for “they are” instead of “their” to indicate possession. There’s more glaring errors, some of which I’m not sure of explaining, but I hope that you will take care of finding the right people to help you to make your books into really great books! It is a distraction to me, & we are paying good money to buy your books! I continue to read your books because I enjoy the contents very much!

I am sorry for being so harsh, but as I previously mentioned, it is very distracting!
I will admit, after Forever My Girl, I didn't like Nick much. I thought he was selfish with how he handled Liam coming back into town. How he told Josie that she and Noah were moving to Africa with him. He didn't ask, he told her. Of course she said no.

After reading this, my feelings on him have changed. He was grasping at any straw he could to try to keep his family together. I felt bad for him. I'm glad that we got his point of view about that situation and now he has his HEA.

He is a good guy. Did he make the right choices? No, but he realizes that. He really hurt Noah with how he left and not having any contact with him.

I think Aubrey is great for him. She's so accepting of Noah, Josie, and Liam. She wants Nick to have a relationship with Noah and she pushes him to make it happen. She has a big heart.
