I don't care how fantastic your story is...if I have to struggle thru misused words, misspelled words, punctuation errors and just plain piss-poor editing, I'm not getting caught up in the world you created! Honestly, from page one, I was highlighting and making notes. This is Amazon, not school. It is not my job to point out and mark all your errors. I am a customer. I would be furious if I went to a restaurant, ordered my meal, got served raw ingredients and then have to go prepare my meal correctly only to be told "now pay up, the ingredients were good!". Authors who "publish" unedited books are beginning to wear on my patience! And to the rave reviewers complaining "editing issues shouldn't keep you from enjoying books" need to remember that a customer's job is to enjoy a completed product. We aren't paying for "some assembly required" books!

They Walk eBook Amy Lunderman Reviews

This story was awesome. I have already read it twice. It's not all about zombies, but it still has plenty of them. It's love and family, even car crashes. This is a great book, I recommend it to any age.
I love reading this book. I enjoyed each character and how there was a fighting scene on every pg. I enjoyed the lead character which makes or break a book for me!
I gave up after chapter 3. I love zombie stories but the grammatical errors and misused words ruined it for me. I cannot see proofreading as too much to ask. Please edit this and rerelease it. I would like to be able to read it without my hand twitching for a red pen.
This was a hard review to write because while the story line was interesting and the main character, Maggie, a strong young woman, the spelling and grammar errors made it almost unbearable to read. It got to the point where it was almost comical to see what mistake was going to pop up next which was truly a shame - this book has such potential and it doesn't even seem like the author ran it through spell check.

If it was an edited book, then I would have rated it a four. As it is currently published, I can tell you that many readers would give up in the first 50 pages due to the errors and it gets worse as the book continues.

The story itself involves a teenage girl, Maggie, her boyfriend Matt, twin brother Dan, his girlfriend Maria, Dan's best friend Gabe, and Maggie's best friend Claire along with a host of others that they meet during their adventures in survival. The teens are attending a party when a car crashes in the front yard. As everyone rushes out to help the person, who is our first zombie, mayhem breaks out and the teens have to start fighting to survive.

After the first few nights, the teens venture to their houses to try to find their parents as well as other survivors. The main part of the book is the story of how Maggie and her friends search for her parents in the "safe zones" and what happens along the way.

The dialogue is very good for the most part and realistic - Maggie is sarcastic, funny, and strong willed and I can just picture her rolling her eyes while making some of the comments that she does. The storyline flows smoothly for the most part and the characters interact well.

My complaints Maggie's parents were portrayed as weak and ineffectual to the point of almost being caricatures and while Maggie loves her axe, if you were in a zombie apocalypse, wouldn't you also want a gun as a backup? She refuses to use one which just makes you want to yell at her, especially since this puts her in bad situations on several occasions.

As someone who relies on the honest opinion of reviewers, while understanding that they ARE opinions, I was disappointed in the fact that the other two reviewers did not mention anything at all about the spelling and grammatical errors of the book as they influenced my purchase of They Walk. After reading the book, I looked up the reviewers and other reviews that they had written and it turns out that they both reviewed the same three books and gave basically the same reviews for them. This seems a bit suspect to me...

The ending was creative and leads well into what could be a good sequel. As the author has great potential, I would encourage her to continue with her writing but PLEASE get an editor so that more people can enjoy your writing talent!!
Sadly this book I have give a big thumbs down too - It had very very poor grammar and the spelling mistakes were shocking - so I would not recommend it anyone had this not been in the book it may have had a lot more potential to be something good sadly it took all that away by being this way
I had to quit reading the book after the first few chapters. The spelling errors were terrible and it just got to be too distracting. It could have been a good book if someone had taken the time to edit.
I love zombie novels and this one has a good story and interesting characters. However, it needs spell check and an editor to clean up sentences. It's very distracting to see so many writing errors that could have been corrected before publishing. There, their, they're, to, too, etc. Minor things that distract from a good story. Please edit.
