This is my first novel by Ms. Dreiling. It was a fun fluffy book. There wasn't really any dangerous situations so mainly was concentrated on the relationship of Bellingham and Laura. Some of the story was really far fetched. I don't feel like the author had the characters talk and act like Regency England people. I found it strange to be sickening sweet and then the characters use strong courseword and sexual language. I'm no prude but it was incongruent with the actions and inner monologues of the characters. Both the hero and heroine were actually very nice and wanted to follow the social rules for the time then all of a sudden enter an affair with no commitment from either. I skimmed through to the end as Laura keep putting off telling her secret and I really don't like when the hero is scared of love. That is just a personal put off for me. I want a strong hero who goes after what he wants. Anyway it wasn't a horrible book as I did finish to the end but it was a little dull and boring. I had just finished a good regency novel that had a passionate love story and maybe my expectations were too high( The Bedding Proposal by Tracy Anne Warren was a fun sexy novel that left me smiling at the conclusion). All in all just an ok book with lots of modern speaking.

Lady Chesfield has come to London for the season with her 17 year old step-son so he can visit with his friends from school. Unfortunately, his friends are a bad influence and Lady Chesfield is having trouble controling his wild behavior. Lord Bellingham sees Lady Chesfield at a ball and is immediately drawn to her. He decides to call on her to return an item to her son and ends up getting pulled into a relationship with her. He takes her son under his wing and provides some much needed male guidance.

Lady Chesfield's love for her son is unwavering. He is her first priority and she makes all decisions in reference to her son's welfare. Though Lord Bellingham is a rake, I love that he recognizes that Lady Chesfield is a lady and he is willing to remain friends with her. In so many of these books, the "hero" is determined to seduce the heroine and her feelings or reputation aren't even considered. Not so in this story. Lord Bellingham doesn't hide his desire for Lady Chesfield, but he lets her know through suggestive comments and teasing banter rather than pressuring her.

Lady Atherton plays a major role as Lady Chesfield's friend and confidante and Lord Bellingham's friends Colin and Harry are very diverting. These characters are all super likable and their conversations are fun and lively. Just the type of friends anyone would be lucky to have! Most of the story takes place in London at balls, card parties and other typical events, but the last third takes place at Lord Bellingham's estate with picnics, fishing and other country activities. I enjoyed this book and will look forward to reading the sequel.
I have been waiting a long time for a book like this. How do you want a happy ever after yet do not want the book to end? This was a Regency romance that was so good I was teary eyed with it. I want to read Colin's story next. I also enjoyed the author's excerpt on how Bellingham and Laura wete created. Love, Love, Love it. Thank you Ms. Vicky.
Today I bring to you the newest book by Vicky Dreiling which is What A Wicked Earl Wants. I don't know how many you have read any of Vicky's previous book, but if you have you would have met Bell at some point. If not, today is your lucky day to meet Bell.

Andrew Carrington, Earl of Bellingham, is actually a pretty decent guy. However, you wouldn't know that by his raking around. Most rakes only do the wicked things, because they want to keep things hidden from the rest of the world. Bell is no different, but we can't focus on his noble qualities quite yet. Why you ask? Well, our very wicked Earl wants something. Of course, it happens to be a very attractive young widow.

Laura Davenport, Lady Chesfield, has been warned to avoid Bell at all cost. Yet she can't avoid him when he makes his presence in her life. You know that their encounter changes everything. Especially, when Bell offers to help her wayward son stay out of trouble.

As I said Bell is a decent guy, who hides it well from the world. The more I read the story I really did love Bell. Granted I do have a soft spot for rakes, but he really does have a noble heart (don't want to leak that out, might ruin his reputation). He really does care about others and willing to help them when they are in trouble. He might even go a tad bit overboard at times, but those qualities make a born leader.

We can't forget his buds Harry and Colin. Good lord, they are definitely fun. Especially, the banter between the two of them. Whenever they enter the picture all I could do was shake my head and laugh. Seriously, they're that funny. I can't wait read more about them.

Most of all I love the friendship between Laura and Bell. I mean they are perfect for each, even though they don't want to succumb to their feelings. You watch how the respect for one another grows between them and makes you truly hope they end up together in the end.

Overall, a great read from Vicky Drieling. Plus, a fantastic start for her new series. I can't wait for more. Honestly, I love Vicky's book because they are completely fun to read. So, if you are looking for a light fun read, I would suggest getting your hands on What A Wicked Earl Wants. Who knows you might want a wicked Earl for yourself.
