I thought this story was a bit weird but I guess that's the way it was supposed to be. Not really my sort of thing.
This book was extremely short and reminded me of Grimm's fairy tales with a not so happy ending. I usually don't read these short stories as I like to find out more about the main character and immerse myself in the story. Very dark and twisted, not for the faint of heart....
First, I'll note that I would have given this 5 stars, except I thought it was a bit too short, that's the only reason. This was different than what I normally read, but I loved it! Great short story. It was well written, and dark and as stated in part of the title Twisted Tale. I enjoyed every chapter, and kept reading hoping to find out more about Ella and the witch. DID NOT expect it to end the way it did. Towards the end I really, really, wanted Ella and the Prince to have their 'Happy Ending'...well you are NOT going to find one in this dark tale! Looking forward to more from this author. =)
Could have more? Hell yeah! I can't seem to get enough if Breena Wilde. I don't like doing reviews since I give too many spoilers.
Great! Dark and gothic. Fast and easy read that was an easy flow. Great character detail with several twists and turns. I loved that it was had a fairy tale type feel with a surprise at the end! Great read!!!
First and foremost, I loved it!! For a dark gothic tale short story, it kept me wanting to know more of the characters.
This was a quick and easy read that had me on pins and needles the entire time I was reading it. In true, typical, H.M. Ward writing, she throws some twists and turns that you don't even see coming. At first I thought the story was going in one direction, and WHAM, I got hit with a 180-degree turn that took me somewhere else completely unexpected.
If you are into fairy tales with a HEA, be prepared for what comes on this gothic tale! If you are a faint at heart, definitely be prepared for the ending. It is not what you expect AT ALL!!
I enjoyed Stone Prison. It was a quick read with very dark, unexpected twists and turns. I'm normally your "happily ever after" kinda gal, but this story left me utterly shocked and speechless at the end. It seems like a fairy tale at first, with young Ella falling in love with and wanting to save the prince from an evil witch. Things seem to go until plan, until you realize just that...and you find yourself questioning who's plan it was to begin with and who really needs to be saved.

This was a great read, especially if you want something quick with a huge shock factor. Be prepared to turn the pages back a couple of times and yell out "Wait, what?!?!?" This was a classic tale of - you think someone is trying to harm you but they are trying to save you, and vice versa-- CRAZY!
